One needs to be in a good physical health to climb up the hills to reach the house of our project beneficiary Shanti Khatri. It was rainy season which made it difficult to climb those steep hills. After a few hours of walking, we finally managed to arrive at her house. When we arrived, Shanti Maya was busy with household chores carrying her youngest child on her back.
Shanti Khatri, mother of 3 young children struggles in daily basis. “Well, life has been pretty hard for me but I am doing everything to take care of my children and give them a brighter future” Shanti Khatri shares her life story us in one breath. After lossing her husband, Shanti Khatri faced economic hardship as well as societal exclusions. Committed more than ever, Shanti Khatri wants to change her life around with the help of this goat farming project.
“I always wanted to do something to help my family. I wanted to prove that I am capable of doing something for my family. Today, I am over the moon. Dreams do come true. And I am the living example”- Shanti Khatri.
