Sabrina Sunuwar lost her husband few years back in a motorcycle accident. That is when her struggle began. The mother of 2, Sabrina Sunuwar lives in a small hut that was built after the earthquake destroyed her house. Well dressed up Sabrina was waiting for our arrival. She greeted us with beautiful smile and a home-grown organic cucumber.
Saabrina’s struggle is much like that of any other single woman. Because of topography and quality of soil, crops she grows in her field are not enough to support her family throughout the year. So she goes to work for other people making 70 cents a day. Because work is seasonal, sometime she doesn’t find work which means she struggles to put food on the table for her children. With this “Goat Farming” project, Sabrina sees a bright future for her family.
“I am going to take care of these goats as if they are my own babies. I want to be able to support my family with the income from these goats. Please do come back to visit us whenever you can”. –Sabrina Sunuwar
