Remley Women’s Advocates at Westminster College, Fulton, Missouri, Raises Funds for Yang-Ward Foundation

People of Westminster College have been the greatest supporters of Yang-Ward Foundation. Recently, for Women’s History month, the Remley interns decided to have an “Equality Bake Sale” to raise awareness for the gender-pay gap. Proceeds from that bake sale went to Yang-Ward Foundation. What each costumer paid was based on his/her sex, race and ethnicity. White men paid a dollar for a brownie, while white women paid 78 cents. Similarly, black men paid 75 cents, black women paid 64 cents, Latino men paid 67 cents and Latino women paid 54 cents for the same brownie.

This event was a huge success and a way for them to have a conversation about pay inequality. What an amazing way to create awareness while supporting our foundation. Special thanks goes to Professor Cinnamon Brown and her entire team for this amazing fund-raising event to benefit Yang-Ward Foundation. You guys make it possible for us to continue with our work of empowering single women.
