“We embrace social responsibility and commitments to empower single women by engaging them in revenue-generating activities to gain better financial independence, invest in improving local education opportunities, and transform their lives.”
– Yangmali Sahadev Rai- Founder and President
Yangmali Sahadev Rai was very involved with social work from an early age. He attended the national school of Nepal, Budhanilkantha School, where he met fellow students from across the country. When Yangmali Rai was finishing his boarding school, Nepal was undergoing a 10 year long civil war which killed thousands of people. As a result of this Maoist insurgency, many Nepali women became widows, essentially making them a victim of a culture where single women are ostracized.
Our Founder and CEO, Yangmali Rai was invited by the Clinton Foundation on behalf of President Bill Clinton, Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) to join them at CGI’s 2014 Annual Meeting, September 21st-24th at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel in New York City.
See MoreYang-Ward Foundation is a US-based 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that seeks to empower underprivileged single women by engaging them in revenue-generating activities such as cash crop production, poultry farming and goat farming. For cash crop production, these single women are provided with seeds, money and technical support, which are monitored by Yang-Ward Foundation.
See MoreYang-Ward Foundation and it’s works have been covered by some of online news sites. Recently it was featured in plenary session of CGIU 2014 before former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took over the stage. Please check out the video and text links underneath for more details.
My wife and I work on projects around the word from South America to Africa to Asia. One of the things you want to be certain is that your donations actually get to the people on the ground who need the help. We work with Yang-Ward Foundation to help empower single women in Nepal. I have known Yangmali Rai since his college days as I was on the board of Trustees of the college we both attended. I know he is getting the dollars to people who need the,. It has been a great partnership.
