Our Founder and CEO, Yangmali Rai was invited by the Clinton Foundation on behalf of President Bill Clinton, Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) to join them at CGI’s 2014 Annual Meeting, September 21st-24th at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel in New York City.
Hosted by President Bill Clinton, Secretary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, the 10th Annual Meeting brought CGI members together under the 2014 theme of “Reimagining Impact” to facilitate the development of forward-thinking approaches that envision the way we impact the world. The annual theme was explored through a variety of sessions and special events held during the meeting where leaders from across sectors measured and assessed the outcome of their work and discussed creating value from their work.
Featured speakers included President Bill Clinton, Former US Secretary of State Hilary Rodham Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, NASA astronaut Cady Coleman, Melinda Gates, Co-chair and Trustee of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, General Motors CEO Mary Barra, IBM’s Chairman, President and CEO Ginni Rometty, Her Majesty Queen Rania and King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Former Prime Minister of United Kingdom Tony Blair to name few.
“I cant even put into words what it means to get invited to attend such an amazing event where I could share our work of empowering single women in Nepal with people who were representing such a cross-section of countries and sectors” says Yangmali Rai. Yangmali Rai was one of the ten CGI U Commitment makers who was invited to attend this annual meeting. “I feel incredibly privileged to be associated with a group of such driven, bright and inspiring change makers whose work varies from public health to education, women empowerment, poverty alleviation, peace and human ri0ghts, to sustainability” says Yangmali Rai about his fellow CGI U Commitment Makers.
